9 Toxic Free Home Made Shampoos

 Shampoos manufactured at home are more affordable and durable than most commercial products. They are most effective for hair and are easy.


Shampoo is used to clean the hair of grime, dead skin, perspiration, and surplus oil. However, the issue with the majority of commercial products is that they contain so many dangerous chemicals that, when used frequently, come into touch with the scalp. Occasionally, irreparable harm to the hair results in hair issues. Well, there is one natural substance that can perform all of the functions of shampoo without harming the hair. In truth, it feeds the hair.

1.  soap-nut shampoo-Treatment for hair growth 

The lovely fruit known as the soap nut is the ideal hair cleanser. Due to its remarkable nutrient profile, which includes Vitamins A, D, E, and K, as well as being gentle on hairs and antibacterial.

It has a remarkable nutrient profile, which makes the hair inherently strong and glossy.

It only requires dried soap nuts, which are readily obtained from grocery stores, to be ground into powder. After that, place the powder in an airtight container, and the natural cleanser is ready to use. It may be stored for a year. Keep this container and a tiny bowl in the washroom whenever washing the hair mix 1 tablespoon or according to the hair length with some water; the shampoo is ready to apply to hair.

 Homemade shampoo is mild and does not produce a lot of lather, but it is still completely capable of removing dirt. Use daily.

 Make a spray with two tablespoons of apple cider and one-fourth cup of water in a spray container and apply it to your hair for 15-20 minutes before using the shampoo if it is used after 4-5 days or oiled hair. After 15-20 minutes, rinse your hair with water then apply soap-nut shampoo for the best results.

There is no need for an apple cider vinegar spray if the shampoo is used every day on the hair. Spraying apple cider vinegar on hair is only done when it is particularly oily or unclean.

2. Homemade Shampoo- Hair fall treatment


3-4 hibiscus flowers add ½ cup hot water. Leave it for 1 hour to set

Take ¼ cup extract of fresh aloe vera gel. Aloe vera gel keeps the scalp dandruff free and nourished.

Mix hibiscus tea with aloe vera gel.

With wet hair apply to your hair. Leave the hair for 4-5 min with this shampoo over the hairs.

Wash hairs. Hairs will be clean and healthy.

3.    Shampoo Bar- for thick hairs

Take a handful of curry leaves add hot water let it soak overnight.

In the morning strain curry leaves into the water.

Add ¼ cup of aloe vera gel

¼ cup castile soap

Mix all ingredients

Rub a cube in between your hands to create a lather.

Gentle massage the shampoo on the scalp and hair and rinse off after 3-4 minutes.

Store the leftover shampoo in ice-cubes tray

Melt 3-4 cubes before hair wash or according to the hair length.

Store the rest of the cubes in the freezer for 3 months.

4.    Herbal Hair Wash-Healthy scalp and Natural Cleanser


4-5 soap-nuts or soap berries(light crush it open)

6-8 Shikakai pods treat hair fall(Light crush)

6-8 dried Amla- boost hair growth and shine, darken hair

1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds (thicker hair growth)

Add 4 cups of water and soak over night

In the morning pour mixture into pan.

Simmer on low heat for 10 minutes.

Cover and let it cool down completely

Strain the herbs.

Pour the shampoo on the scalp and massage it.

Leave it on for 5 minutes and rinse it off

Gentle massage the shampoo on wet hair.


5.    Homemade Wash Powder


3 tablespoon of Shikakai powder (natural cleanser that promotes a healthy scalp)

2 tablespoon fenugreek powder (treat hair fall)

2 tablespoon hibiscus powder (for soft and shiny hair)

1 tablespoon Amla powder (darken and thick hair)

To use-Add 2-3 tablespoons of the powder to a bowl.

Add hot water to form a thick liquid.

Optional-Add 1 tablespoon of natural baby wash.

For frizzy hair add ½ tablespoon of any lightweight hair oil.

Gentle massage the hair cleanser on your scalp and hair.

Leave it for 3-5 minutes and rinse it off.

6.    Protein Shampoo

Amla powder                    1 tablespoon

Aritha powder                  2 tablespoon

Shikakai powder              1 tablespoon

To add protein                 

rice powder                      1 tablespoon

 flaxseeds  powder            1 tablespoon

Mix all ingredients into 4 cups of water

Cook until remain 2 cups

Let it cool and wash your hair daily.

If there is a 3–4 day gap between washing or oiling your hair. Make a spray by combining 1 spoonful of lemon juice with 1/4 cup of water first. Spray the hair, let it sit for 15 minutes, and then rinse it with water. Use this spray to thoroughly clean your hair before using a homemade wash for the best results.
