Bleeding Heart Plant- Flower Garden

Bleeding heart plant blooms in spring to early summer. After the plant has blossomed in the late summer, early morning hours are the optimum times to take cuttings.

Take a cutting now from the soft wood growth on the plant's edge, try to pull out a bit of root with it, and put the cutting in a plastic bag as soon as you take it to the ground.

Plastic bags keep the moisture locked until the cutting takes to the ground.

Cut off the lower leaves because they cannot support all of them; instead, leave those at the top for the time being.

Water the pot then, place the cutting in a pot of wet and well-drained compost;  until the roots are established.

After that, lay three sticks around the pot's perimeter; these will be used to support a plastic bag.

Pull the plastic bag over the sticks and tie it at the bottom of the pot to provide a humid environment while the roots get established.

Keep warm, moist, and in indirect sunlight at a daytime temperature of between 18 and 24 degrees centigrade. When new growth begins to appear, it means the roots are now established; at this time, remove the plastic bag from the sticks.

Then, plant it in its ultimate ground position outdoors.
